Lesser Emperor (Anax parthenope)

A very rare migrant, breeding not proved

2006: 24/6: one male (southern edge of No.1 pool); 30/6: one male (southern edge of No.1 pool); 22-24/7: one male, but two seen on 22/7 (southern edge of No.1 pool). Suspected up to three separate individuals were present altogether.

2007: 5-9/8: one male (southern edge of No.1 pool).

2008: no records.
 
2009: 1/7: 2 males at Quicksand pool north; 2/7: 2 males at Quicksand pool north; 6/7: one male (Fishing/Quicksand pools).

2010: 10/7: 1 male (Fishing/Quicksand pools). Possibly the 5th or 6th consecutive year this species has occurred. Has probably bred on the reserve but not proved.

2011-2014: no records.
