Red-veined Darter, male, on Number 1 pool in 2006 (photo RS)

A rare migrant, breeding in 2006

2006: 17/6: Large influx with a minimum of 15 males and one female around No.1 pool. Also up to 8 individuals were recorded on-site this year on seven dates prior to 23/7 when the last male was seen. All were on No.1 pool except two males on the Meadow pool. Three tenerals were seen on 24/8 with 1-3 others on seven dates until the last one seen on 13/9 but no certain evidence that these bred.

2009: 4-5/7: one male on the Quicksand pool.
